Sometimes God says no. One of my all-time best friends is hurting in a bad way. He is suffering from a brutal illness that will one day claim his life. He’s too young and so are his children. We’ve all prayed, but he only gets better around the edges.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 NIV
“Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness..."

I’ve lived in the fire myself and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just wait and God will turn this stinker into something glorious. He did it for me and He will for you too.

Hang in there buddy, God’s grace will carry you through.

Father, i lift up to you curm's friend. you are our greatest healer and i know you are able. we ask for your healing powers to touch his body and make him whole again. i believe, Father that nothing is impossible with you. Father, i pray that curm's friend and his family will find comfort in you. bless them, Lord Jesus, even as they are faced with this trial. all these things i pray, in Jesus' name, amen.

Prayers said. (((HUGS)))

Y'know, looking at it from a mother's perspective...it HAS to hurt God to say no. It just has to. I know that when my son is just ill with a fever, I would just do anything to take away his ailment. And for God to constantly look down on this fallen world and to see "one of the good ones" desparate...it can only stir Him to tears. And in His Sovereign Righteousness, He also knows everything we can't possibly know. I boggles my brain to try to comprehend.

So we have faith that He knows what He's doing and it will all be for good (Romans 8:28)

Pia - Thank you. I pray your mom is doing better too.

Michelle - Zane is a lucky boy to have you as his Mummy. How is our friend from Haiti doing?

Curm ... I have been remiss in visiting your blog and have missed being blessed by your faithfulness to others. It is hard to watch someone we care for remain in illness. Your friend is doubly blessed to have someone like you lifting him up in prayer. I'll do the same.

Blessings, Francine

David,
You and everyone concerning you are in my prayers. You're a special man of God. His grace is superbly sufficient, even if it doesn't seem like it at the moment.

Pia - I'm glad to hear that mom is better. Please keep me up to date. As far as my book, it's a long story.

Rulan (Kid)is my critique partner, so she's read both the old paperback and the much improved "still to be published" version. I plan to start shopping for a publisher soon.

God bless!

I came back down here to read this again. I am glad I did.

My heart cries out to those who are sick and I long to see them all healed. I have prayed for people in the past and seen the Lord heal some, yet others He has not.

Why? I do not understand, perhaps I never will.

The Father has reasons beyond our understanding. All I know is that I love Him and without Him, I would not be here. He has healed me a few times, yet there are things He has not. Even so, I am greatful. He is my all.

The other day I learned that a friend has cancer. Will He heal her? I pray He does.

God bless you for sharing. It helps me to understand a little more. Thank you.
