Today’s review of VIOLETE BETWEEN (Waterbrook Press), by Alison Strobel is extra special because she is one of our very own CFBA Bloggers. So permit me to start by tipping my hat in congratulations to Alison on a job well done. Way to go!

Alison comes by her writing gift naturally, her father, Lee Strobel, is also a best selling Christian author (The Case for Christ). VIOLETTE BETWEEN is Alison’s second book, following WORLDS COLLIDE (Waterbrook Press). You can bet we will be seeing much more from this gifted author in the future.

Now about the book

Grieving the death of her husband, Violette spent six months in bed. There could never be another man like her Saul. When Christian entered her life, she knew it wasn’t fair. She could never give all of her heart to him. How could she tell him?

Christian blamed God for the death of his wife. Cynthia had been his whole world. If that wasn’t enough, just going to work was like rubbing salt in an open wound. As a marriage therapist, he had to listen to complaining couples who had it all and yet they took each other for granted. It just wasn’t fair.

Just when they thought life couldn’t get more complicated, it did. A horrible accident put Violette into a coma. Would she survive? Could Christian’s words reach her? How could God be so cruel and take another woman that he loved? If she ever awakened, would Violette be able to love Christian the way she loved Saul?

To learn these answers, you’ll have to buy the book. But this much I can tell you; it’s an inspirational journey into the heart and guaranteed to make your heart sing.
