If you had a life filled with poverty and had a chance for a better life, would you take it? I bet you would. I think I would go for all I could get. That is not what Marc Honorat did. His heart burned with the desire to return to Haiti with a message of God’s compassion and love. That is exactly what he did.

Marc and Lisa were married in May of 2000. When my wife and I were first married, we built a house, and did our level best at being fruitful and multiplying. What did Marc and Lisa do? They started raising funds to build a ministry in Haiti.

The name of Haiti Arise was inspired by Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.”

God blessed their fundraising efforts and the first two acre plot of land was purchased in Grand-Goâve, Haiti in 2002. God’s hand of blessing gave them quick success and construction of the Technical School and other buildings began in July of 2003. January of 2004 was ushered in with the birth of their first son Asher, and the purchase of more land.

All through the construction of the School and other buildings, ministry has flourished. The Church has grown at an amazing rate, and the open roof building has had to be expanded three times! It is amazing to watch the ministry explode with enthusiastic growth. God’s favor rests heavily upon them and lives are being changed with power.

Volunteer teams from the US and Canada have included skilled workers to help with the technical expertise needed in the areas of plumbing, electrical and general construction. Most came with the hope of blessing others to find that their own lives were touched far more than anything they had done for the people of Haiti.

The growth of Haiti Arise has been staggering and the needs of the ministry are great. The Lord has blessed them with a small handful of faithful supporters, but many more are needed to make this vision of hope possible. Ask yourself if the Lord would have you help in some way? Can you afford a dollar a day from your income to invest in the lives of God’s children in Haiti?

Perhaps the Lord is touching your heart to have a garage sale on behalf of Haiti Arise? Do you have a skill and would like to volunteer a few weeks of your time to help build the ministry? Would you like to donate building supplies, Bibles, computer equipment or clothing? The needs are great, and we need your help.

Matthew 9:37-38 NIV
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Is the Lord touching your heart? Please visit the Haiti Arise website, and ask the Lord if He would have you to join the team? Above all else, please keep Haiti Arise in your prayers!

I will leave this post up for the next week. Please tell your friends to come and visit. In a few weeks, I plan to share an interview I had with Marc. You will be blessed! Details to come soon.

David, may the Lord touch many lives through the words you write and the thoughts you share. May God melt the hearts of stone and flow forth His compassion upon the land of Haiti. May the wellspring of His richness be poured out and His Glory be seen. May His Spirit rise up within you and all involved in this ministry. May His mighty angels form a protective hedge around you all and may people stand in awe of God Almighty.

Hey man, I have not seen you around today. I pray that you are well and safe. May the Lord's strength and light fill you with joy. May you and your family be blessed by the Lord's work that you do. Strength and health to you my friend.
1 Corinthians 15:57-58
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, we are steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord.
